Divergent is an excellent dystopian novel in which Chicago in the year 3079 is divided into different factions, each representing a different virtue (truth, kindness, selflessness, daring, and intelligence). The main character Beatrice (although she goes by Tris) is part of the Abnegation, the selfless faction, although she hates the “stiffness of life there.” On her aptitude test, she gets a weird result and decides to change her life path. A New York Times Bestseller, this book will have you on the edge of your seat.
This book was pretty good and I thought it was pretty exciting, but it could have been better as it wasn't very deep in terms of talking about the society they live in.
